Childhood Development is Greatly Aided by Playtime

“How much of child development is dependent on the daily activities for kids that they participate in?”

Studies show that plays are absolutely essential to brain development because it significantly contributes to the social, physical, cognitive, and emotional well-being of children and youth. Psychologists are able to observe a child’s play by themselves and with others we can see in what areas they are developing well and where they could use support. This happens because playgrounds are children’s socializing grounds, and the study of playground activity can help understand how a child is relating to the world around them.
Young children are active participants in the world around them, engaging and forming new neural pathways every day. During the first five years of a child’s life, their brains are growing at a phenomenal rate, much faster than at any other time in their lifespans. Their experiences shape how their brains develop and can set the stage for success later in life, with time to play and socialize with others taking center stage in this development. Even in the face of overwhelming support from Pediatric specialists for increased play time, the time that children are able to develop through play gets shorter every year. With a multitude of different activities demanding our attention every day it is important for our children that we commit to increasing their play time, so here are some fun activities for kids that help encourage development like this “Spark Your Kids Imagination With Coloring Books”.
